Koneko, the cat cafe at 26 Clinton St., was robbed earlier this week by two men who made off with $850. It happened Monday evening at about 9:30, just before closing time.
According to the Daily News, one of the men stuck his hand in a black plastic bag, suggesting that he was carrying a gun. He reportedly said: “You know what this is, give me the money… Don’t look at me, put the money in the bag.” The second man was acting as a lookout. The New York Post reported that the Koneko employee, a 35-year-old woman, was made to lie on the floor as the men fled.
Police are looking at surveillance video in an effort to identify the suspects
