There were some scary moments last night inside Soft Swerve, the ice cream store at 85 Allen St.
We’re told by co-owner Michael Tsang that a man walked in at about 10:45 p.m., claimed he had a gun and stole the shop’s tip jar. You can see the security camera image above (the time stamp is incorrect). The suspect had a brown paper bag over his hand; he never actually showed a gun.
During the incident, employees were threatened. Customers were in the store at the time. Tsang says they’re not exactly sure how much money was in the tip jar, but it was probably around $80. Soft Swerve, located near Broome St. opened this past November.
