Police have arrested a suspect in the attempted rape of a woman inside a Lower East Side building earlier this month.
On March 3, cops say, 41-year-old Robert Adames followed a 25-year-old woman into 139 Norfolk St. He then shoved the victim through the door of her apartment and groped her. She screamed and he fled. A few days later, police identified Adames and released the photo you see above.
Adames faces attempted rape, trespassing and other charges. Â Police said their suspect is homeless and has at least 40 arrests on his record. Channel 4 reported that he’s on parole until 2020 for a perjury conviction.
