Man Shot on Rutgers Street Early This Morning

Early this morning, a man was shot in the leg by a gunman on the Lower East Side.

It happened at about 4:45 a.m. on Rutgers Street near Madison Street. According to the Daily News, the 30-year-old victim was hit twice in the leg. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive.

The victim told cops that he was walking down the street when he heard gunshots and then felt a sharp pain in his leg. Two suspects fled the scene.
