Emergency crews were called to Extell Development’s One Manhattan Square site this morning after a construction worker was injured.
According to a complaint filed with the Department of Buildings, the worker hurt his back when some scaffolding fell on him. He was transported to a local hospital.
Extell is, of course, building an 80-story tower at 252 South St., alongside the Manhattan Bridge. We contacted an Extell spokesperson for more information. We’ll let you know if there’s a reply.
UPDATE 12:55 p.m. A spokesperson tells us a worker “brushed up against some construction materials and experienced some pain to his back. He was treated by the on-site medic and an ambulance was called as a precaution for his further evaluation at a nearby hospital.”
