–A 51-year old man from Queens was killed after being struck by a J Train in the Bowery station Saturday afternoon. Witnesses said about 40 people struggled to free the victim, who suffered a fatal head injury.

–In reviewing Assembly payroll records, the Daily News notes that Sheldon Silver still has eight people on his staff. They would likely be given six weeks to find new jobs if Silver is convicted on federal corruption charges and forced to give up his seat.
