According to the Post, a teenager has been arrested for stealing/trying to steal several pricey cars from Manhattan parking facilities, including two on the Lower East Side.
17-year-old Jaquan Fraser was charged yesterday with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and a variety of other charges. The crime spree began July 13 when Fraser and two accomplices allegedly swiped a $42,000 Infiniti Q56 from a parking lot on Henry Street. Cops say he was on his own August 14 in an attempt to drive off with a $70,000 Porsche Cayenne that was parked in a lot at 70 Monroe St. (near the Manhattan Bridge). A parking attendant apparently caught Fraser in the act.
Police said the teens knew that most parking lot operators keep drivers’ keys either inside each car or nearby the parked vehicles.
