A Name Change For Eleven Rivington as the Gallery Leaves Rivington Street

Eleven Rivington, one of the Lower East Side’s most prominent galleries, is giving up one space while expanding in another.

According to Artnet News, the original storefront at 11 Rivington St., will be closing in early October. Meanwhile, the gallery will be renamed 11R as it takes on bigger footprint at 195 Chrystie St. Eleven Rivington St. opened a 1200 sq. ft. gallery there in 2012. The new space will be 3200 sq. ft.

The last show on Irvington Street will feature artists  Assume Vivid Astro Focus, Denise Kupferschmidt, and Shirley Jaffe. It opens Sept. 9 and closes Oct. 9.
