New York City’s free outdoor pools will open for another summer season (finally!) tomorrow, including our local favorite, the Hamilton Fish Olympic size pool at Pitt Street and Houston. Hours are from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a break for pool cleaning between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Early bird and night owl lap swim hours (7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.) will begin on July 6. You’ll need to register online here to participate in the lap swim. Participants who swim 25 miles or more over the summer will receive a free t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female distance swimmers at each pool program.
