Police are looking for a suspect who has attacked at least four Asian women across the city in the past week. The latest incident happened yesterday afternoon near 48 Mulberry St. (alongside Columbus Park), within the 5th Precinct.
At around 4 p.m., police say, the man approached a 41-year-old woman but was ignored. He returned and struck the victim in the face with a hard item inside a white or grey bag. The woman was hospitalized following the incident and later released.
Similar incidents happened last week near 155 Grand St., as well as on Park Avenue near 30th Street and on the Upper East Side. One of the victims told Channel 4 the man complained that Asian girls don’t talk to him or give him their phone numbers.
