Police are looking for a suspect who attacked a man with a hammer in an apartment at the Rutgers Houses at 160 Madison St. The crime happened at about 8 in the morning September 7. According to cops, the suspect struck the 22-year-old victim in the head as he was sleeping. As the victim tried to get away, he was hit again in the head and his arm.
The suspect escaped and the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was in stable condition. Police say the attacker had been subletting the apartment from the victim. They released the surveillance image you see above.
