Morning Reads: Bowery Landmark Listed, Bowien Sues Landlord, Hasidic Rocker Chicks

Photographer Jay Meisel’s building, otherwise known as the former Germania Bank landmark at 190 Bowery, has apparently been listed for sale (Crain’s).

Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese has filed a lawsuit against his former Orchard Street landlord, after a mouse infestation forced the closure of the trendy restaurant (Eater).

A landlord on 1st Avenue is telling his tenants they must get out ahead of likely demolition (EV Grieve).

Gail Collins weighs in on our U.S. senator’s great panda quest: “While it is true that I once wrote that Carolyn Maloney is the kind of politician who would pander to a doorknob, this bear quest seems like a totally worthy endeavor.” (NYT)
