If you’re feeling a little cramped in your current apartment, here’s an opportunity for an upgrade.

A rental listing just popped up from Stribling for this 4-bedroom, 3-bath unit at 191 Chrystie St. The asking price for the “chic, renovated, sun drenched” apartment is $17,000/month. The six-story building is located between Stanton and Rivington streets. Experimental Cocktail Club is located on the ground floor of the property. Listings in this stratosphere are still pretty rare on the Lower East Side. A check of Streeteasy shows only three other apartments asking more than $9,000/month, including one unit at 105 Norfolk St. ($10,000/month).
So, “someone with the dough” is supposed to share … but only with artists??
Yes, people with money should share because they benefit from the work of others. No one becomes successful on their own. And I didn’t say only artists, just happen to be one so that was first on my mind since I lost my home because of over pricing in the LES. I would be just as happy to hear that a single mom with two kids also moved in with a wealthy person who offered to shelter them :)
