More changes ahead on lower Orchard Street. Gargyle, which offers a modern spin on leisurewear, is closing its store at the end of the month.
The boutique does a robust business online. Three years ago, however, husband and wife team Don Vu and Nhung Nguyen converted their showroom at the corner of Orchard and Canal to a full-fledged retail outpost. A short time ago, we stopped by the store, located at 16 Orchard St., and were told the company “lost its lease” and would be searching for a new Manhattan location.
As Racked noted this afternoon, Gargyle is having a big moving sale through Sunday (75% off). There have been lots of changes on this block lately. Invisible Exports, at 14 Orchard, has announced its moving to a larger gallery space in the neighborhood. Two new galleries, are coming to 33-34 Orchard.
