In food news today:

  • Pho Grand, the popular Vietnamese restaurant at 277 Grand St., has reopened after being shut down by the city’s Health Department earlier this month. The business has a “grade pending” placard in the door, which means inspectors will be back sometime soon.
  • EV Grieve notes that Veselka Bowery has closed after just 17 months in business.  The original location at 144 2nd Avenue will remain open.
  • Serious Eats offers a tour from opening weekend of the Hester Street Fair.
  • William Reed, co-owner of the Brooklyn Star, will “manage the front of the house” at Ivan Orkin’s highly anticipated ramen spot on Clinton Street, which is expected to open in June. Eater has a few details, including news of some preview dinners at Mission Chinese. There will be 41 seats in the dining room and 24 in the garden.
