Help For the East River Co-op: Gallery Owner James Fuentes Organizes Aid Effort

Must Read

We’ll have a full list of volunteer opportunities in the neighborhood in a little while. But we wanted to pass along this from James Fuentes, who runs one of the Lower East Side’s most highly regarded art galleries and who lives in the Grand Street cooperatives.  Fuentes, a LES native, is trying to organize a group to help the elderly residents of the East River Co-op, many of them stuck on high floors without water or food.  The idea is to centralize donations and to begin a floor-by-floor aid effort in the buildings.  If you’re interested in working with Fuentes on this project, you can email him at: jamesedwardfuentes@gmail.com.
