Police Search For Man in June iPhone Theft at Canal Street Station

Police are asking for help in locating a suspect wanted in a robbery inside the Canal Street subway station June 22nd. It happened at about 6 p.m. on a southbound R train.  The suspect pushed the male victim, punched him and then swiped his iphone.  Surveillance video shows the suspect struggling to escape through a turnstile. He’s described as a Hispanic or black man, age 30-35, 5’7″ tall, with a muscular build, slight goatee, and an earring. He was wearing jeans but no shirt.
