Today’s Lower East Side restaurant/food news:
- The neighbors are pretty excited about this week’s opening of Dudley’s, the Australian bistro at 85 Orchard, where “Little Giant” used to be. There was a soft-opening over the weekend. The restaurant is owned by Nick Mathers of Ruby’s on Mulberry Street. The place features a “walk-up”window, apparently all the rage on the LES these days. Thanks to Orchard Street resident Asim Hamid for sending along this photo, snapped inside Dudley’s over the weekend.
- Melt Bakery has finally opened up its brick-and-mortar store at 132 Orchard Street.
- Family Recipe on Eldridge Street is offering up bento boxes to go for the 4th of July.
- It’s “Dinner and a Band” tonight at Sons of Essex, featuring Dr. Skinnybones and Naja Rosa.
