Here’s an event that was slightly outside our coverage area but we’ll make an exception. Tim Schreier was at Judson Church last night, where the 2012 Chloes Awards took place. The ceremony honors the spirit of transgender heroes Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Chloe Dzubilo. Rosario Dawson hosted. Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons performed. This year’s awards recognized the creators of the documentary film “Pay it No Mind: Marsha P. Johnson”; the transgender activists of the Occupy Movement; Elizabeth Rivera and Make the Road NY for their devotion to HIV/AIDS prevention; and the “We Can End AIDS Campaign.” Click through to see more photos.
