There’s a lot happening on Norfolk Street these days. On Friday we received an email from Meryl Cooper, who along with partner Helen Allen, recently opened Site/109. Located in the “Switch” building, it’s an event and pop-up exhibition space. The new business is located right next to the Lisa Cooley Gallery, which is relocating to 107 Norfolk (the old Tonic space) from Orchard Street.
Their inaugural exhibition opens this evening. “Sex, DUI’s and Videotape” (a take on the Steven Soderbergh’s film) is an “examination of the changing definition of beauty and shame in today’s pixel-saturated society.”  The group show is presented by Hilger Gallery and BROTKunsthalle. The opening is tonight from 6-9 p.m.
