Police have arrested a suspect in the murder 16 months ago of a man near 46 Madison Street. 28-year old Anthony Evans, a resident of the Alfred E. Smith public housing complex, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of September 1st, 2010. A short time later, police released a photo of this man, Pierre Hecker, who they said was wanted for questioning in connection with the crime. This week, they took Hecker, a Harlem resident, into custody. He has been charged with second degree murder. Authorities did not release additional information about a possible motive or any other details about the investigation.
