We’re Looking For Freelance Reporters

Must Read

We’re looking for a few good reporters!  The Lo-Down has received some funding to pay a modest per-story stipend to a few journalists during the next few months.  If you’re an experienced reporter who lives on the Lower East Side and you have a passion for the neighborhood, we hope to hear from you.

The assignments will be varied. They’ll  range from hard news (development issues, crime, government, etc) to features. In particular, we’re looking for reporters to cover the Lower East Side’s nightlife and fashion scenes.

Since our debut two years ago, lots of new and old friends have donated their journalistic and production services to The Lo-Down, which will always be for us a “labor of love.” These kinds of community submissions are now and will continue to be an important part of TLD. This new funded program is meant to augment our current coverage with more stories that require substantial research and reporting.

Interested?  Send us your resume and an email summarizing what types of stories you would be interested in covering.  We’re anticipating each reporter working with us will be submitting one or two stories per week.
