We’re at University Settlement, where city planners are conducting a pubic hearing regarding the Seward Park redevelopment project.
The hearing is part of the lead-up to a 9-month environmental assessment of the Seward Park parcels, at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge. Residents and other speakers are weighing in on a “draft scoping document,” the final version of which will guide the environmental review.
The afternoon and evening sessions have been sparsely attended. Most of those speaking out tonight are calling for “at least 50-percent affordable housing” to be built on SPURA. More to come…
