A message from Community Board 3:
Community Board 3 is looking for locations to hold full board meetings attended by board members and the community. The meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of every month (with rare exceptions for holidays). We need access from 6:00 p.m. to 10 or 11:00 p.m.
The meetings are open and the public is encouraged to attend. We need seating for at least 150 people. The meeting places must be accessible, both by public transportation and wheel chair accessible.
The Community Board very much appreciates any help in suggesting suitable locations within CB 3. The Board also needs a volunteer to staff the door for each meeting from 7:00 pm to closing. The first volunteer is needed for Oct. 31.
The CB formerly held meetings at P.S. 20 and occasionally other schools. However, last year the Dept of Education decided that community boards could no longer use schools free. The District 1 Community Education Council sponsored the CB meetings last year, but are no longer permitted by DOE to do this.
