Here are musician Ken Beasley’s top music picks on the Lower East Side for this weekend:

HOLLIS BROWN – Fri, Apr 29 І 7PM at the Mercury Lounge
Since their 2009 debut, Brooklyn’s Hollis Brown has been hard at work, touring the country. Delivering a steady stream of high-energy live performances along with their thoroughly enjoyable pop/rock material, their efforts have begun to pay off, getting them featured on several MTV television shows like the Real World, and an array of high profile festivals. $10//217 E. Houston St.
SASHA PAPERNIK –  Sat. Apr 30 І 8PM at The Living Room

A conservatory trained pianist, Sasha Papernik’s skills are obvious, but it is her straightforward lyrics and poised melodies that bring out the color of her compositions. She is now performing with her band The Indulgents in support of her latest CD “Love in a Box”.  FREE//154 Ludlow St.
KELLI SCARR– Sun, May 1 І 10PM at Rockwood Music Hall

Kelli Scarr got thrown into the deep end early in her career when she followed her vocal studies at Berklee School of Music by joining as keyboard player for songwriter/electronica icon Moby. Eventually, she was invited to open Moby shows with sets of her own songs, and put together the album “Piece”, a recording reflective in theme, with slight, echoey arrangements.  FREE// 196 Allen St.
Splitting his time between performing and producing, contributor Ken Beasleyprimarily plays with his own roots/rock band, Ken Beasley & Co., as well as the power punk outfit, Missy Sport, while also curating the Underground at the Abrons music series on the Lower East Side.
