A high of 44 today with rain — continuing through tomorrow. Looks like we’ll see a pretty nice weekend, though. This morning, we’ll be hearing more about the Festival of New Ideas, the community wide arts event coming up in May. Look for details this afternoon. This evening, there will be a public hearing at P.S. 188 concerning a proposal to expand the Girls Prep Charter School. And there will be a book party/forum for the release of “The Bowery: A History of Grit Graft & Grandeur.” Last night, Community Board 3 continued planning for the Seward Park redevelopment site. We’ll have a recap. Plus, an update on one of the Essex Street Market’s most well known vendors. And finally, a reminder: you can see all sorts of LES-related events on our Calendar.
