The LES Film Festival kicked off 20 days of shorts and features made for under $30,000 last night at the intimate Grand Opening space on Norfolk Street. If the evening’s lineup was any indication, audiences will be in for a treat during the next couple weeks at the festival; their selection of films is quite enchanting. Last night’s lineup included the fantastic animated short, Pickles for Nickels, by Danielle Ash and a beautiful live action short, Plume, directed by Karen Cinorre and shot by Sam Levy. Filmmakers were on hand for Q and A’s afterward, including Harvey Wang, whose film, Adam Purple & The Garden of Eden is being featured throughout the festival. (Wang’s show is currently at Fusion Arts in the East Village – we wrote about his kickstarter campaign here.) Tickets are $10 // BYOB // Screenings start at 8:00pm // 139 Norfolk Street.
