Run, don’t walk – to the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and catch the uber-talented Sarah Jones in “New Year, Nuyorican.” Beginning on Jan. 17th, she’ll present fourteen workshop performances at the intimate space where she got her start. Her one-woman show, Bridge & Tunnel was a smash hit that went all the way to Broadway and garnered her a special TONY award.
Here, Jones will be working on a new piece — she’ll re-visit some of the fabulous multi-cultural characters from Bridge & Tunnel, while working on some new ones. She will also be improvising and answering questions from the audience. She promises surprise visits from special guests, including feminist icon Gloria Steinem on January 17th. Performances will run between Jan. 17-Feb. 28th // $20, $12 student rush // 236 East 3rd Street.
