Modern Day Clark Kents – a Panel at Goethe-Insitut EV

Must Read

The Goethe-Institut has a new event space downtown at the Wyoming Building in the East Village. They plan to present a full slate of cultural programming – readings, discussions, screenings, performances and exhibitions.  This evening they will present, “Modern Day Clark Kents,” a panel exploring creative solutions to today’s environmental challenges. They write:

The event moderator will be Jennifer Prediger, creator of Grist’s popular online eco-advice column Ask Umbra. She will be speaking with the real men behind two of the environmental movement’s most exciting characters: No Impact Man and The Yes Men.

Colin Beavan, the No Impact Man, captured the world’s attention when he took on a mission to live in New York City with his family for a year with zero impact on the environment.

Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, The Yes Men, raise awareness around socio-environmental issues through tactical media actions. By impersonating those who put profits above all else, The Yes Men capture the public imagination and expose problems resulting from unchecked greed.

This will be an evening of lively exchange and will explore creative solutions to combat the environmental challenges we face today. Please join us to discuss artful actions that everyday citizens can engage in to make a positive environmental impact.
