Banana Bag’s Beowulf Tours The Lower East Side

Must Read

Picture 1
Returning after a successful run at Abrons Arts Center last spring and reviewed as one of The New Yorker's best shows of 2009, Banana Bag & Bodice's underground hit, Beowulf – A Thousand Years of Baggage, will be offering late-night performances in four LES institutions next week. Starting tomorrow, you can catch Beowulf at The Living Room, Sunday at Piano's, Tuesday at Arlene's Grocery and Thursday at Slipper Room. Banana Bag Co-founder Jessica Jelliffe told The Lo-Down, "The show works really well as a mead-hall storytelling experience – we did it once like that out in SF so we knew from experience…It's gonna be a blast."  Now you can watch this raucous dissertation of a thousand-year old poem performed as a "song-play" with drink in hand. Visit goingNYC for schedule details and tickets.
