You can pretty much guarantee the neighbors are going to be watching this place closely. The successor to Cafe Charbon, Hair of the Dog, is scheduled to open at 168 Orchard Street on Thursday. They’ve been hosting “friends and family” the past few days.
The guys behind “bastions of beer pong” (Thrillist’s words, not ours) Down the Hatch and the 13th Step have taken over at the corner of Orchard and Rivington. There are two bars, 25 flat-screen tv’s and three projectors to meet all your sports viewing and beer guzzling needs.
LES food/cocktail guy Mitch Weinstein sauntered by last night and came away with some pre-opening propaganda:
