Pop Karma, the artisanal popcorn shop at 95 Orchard Street, is just about ready to open. Jean Tsai has been transforming the old il laboratorio del gelato store for several months; the interior was built using eco-friendly materials. A successful Kickstarter campaign helped fund the build-out. A short time ago, Tsai told us the storefront is just about ready; they’ve been perfecting the recipes this week, and are hoping for an opening next Monday. The idea behind Pop Karma is to to “make delicious popcorn from pure, top-quality ingredients.” There’s more information on their Facebook page.
