Abrons Arts For Living

Downtown diva and performance artist Penny Arcade will host a virtual fundraiser, Arts For Living: Artists Feed the L.E.S., at Abrons Arts Center, to benefit Henry Street Settlement’s Food Access Initiative, on March 26 at 7:00pm.  Penny Arcade will be screening live from the historic Playhouse Theater, which for the past year has been operating as Abrons’ Food Access Initiative, a food pantry that serves 700 Lower East Side residents each week, who face food insecurity worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will feature video commissions by: Linda Diaz with A R, Tripp Jones with Alejandro Hidalgo, Elroy Gay with Alicia Mersy, Eugene Puglia with Alon Sicherman, Barbara King and Sandra E. Walker with Gogy Esparza and Annie Tan with Andy K. Boyce.

Tickets for Arts for Living are free and available here. Donations will be accepted online with 100 percent of proceeds going to support the Food Access Initiative.  A limited edition run of Arts for Living shirts, designed in partnership with Lower East Side clothing brand The Good Company, will be available for pre-sale; 100 percent of the price of every shirt sold be donated to the initiative.
