Another theme bar is giving it a go at 174 Rivington St.

This past weekend, Bar Alaska opened in the same building that housed the defunct Will Ferrell-themed lounge, “Stay Classy.”

According to Bar Alaska’s website, the new venue features an ambiance evoking the 49th state, “where America and Russia first met and fused their cultures of old and new.” As you might have guessed, the cocktail menu revolves around Russian vodkas. There’s a small food menu, including Alaskan king crab tacos, oyster shooters, deviled eggs and salmon tartare.

Community Board 3 offered its support for the new spot this past fall, after the owners agreed to reduce their operating hours. The bar is currently open Friday-Saturday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday-Thursday from 4p.m.-1 a.m.
