It’s opening day for Hemlock, a new restaurant at 65 Rivington St. from a former chef at Mario Batali’s Casa Mono in Gramercy.
Diego Moya is taking over the old Miller’s Near & Far space, which is located just to the west of Allen Street. It’s a spare menu, built around seasonal ingredients.
According to the menu posted on the window (which is different from the online version), featured dishes include mackerel with preserved lemon and fennel, clams with sweet garlic and toasted chiles, lamb breast with peas and braised pistachios and warm spinach with sorrel and Thai basil.
The restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday-Sunday 5:30 p.m.-midnight. Saturday and Sunday lunch is served 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
