Steve Nash’s 8th annual “Showdown in Chinatown” soccer match kicks off next Wednesday evening, June 24, at Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
NBA stars and professional soccer players team up for the big game, with all proceeds helping underserved youth. Yesterday, the Steve Nash Foundation announced the first group of participants. They include Italy’s World Cup star, Alessandro Del Piero, along with Giuseppe Rossi of Fiorentina, Luol Deng of the Miami Heat, Geoff Cameronof the U.S. Men’s National Team and Chris Mullin, former basketball great and current Head Coach of St. John’s Men’s Basketball.
The event takes place at the athletic fields on Stanton Street. Pre-game festivities begin at 4 with the game beginning at 6:30 p.m.
