Partnerships for Parks, New Yorkers for Parks and the Center for Urban Pedagogy teamed up to produce a guide for people interested in improving their local parks. The illustrated fold-out poster is embedded below. Here’s more from the organizations:
Whether you’re interested in addressing maintenance concerns like litter, broken benches or overgrown grass, to capital projects, like a new dog run or playground, increased signage or better wheelchair access, this guide is the perfect tool to get you started. The guide neatly lays out a course of action – from coalition building and letter-writing, to community board presentations and meetings with public officials. It also clearly describes the difference between advocating for a capital project, and a maintenance or staffing issue.
