Cops Search For Serial Subway Robber
Police are looking for a man responsible for a strong of subway robberies, two of which have occurred on the Lower East Side.
According to police, teenage boys and young men between the ages of 15 and 30 have been targeted. Investigators think the same suspect is responsible for at least five robberies over a three day period. Victims have said the man tells them he has a gun with a silencer and then demands money. One incident occurred Sunday around 10 p.m. at East 1st Street; a 19-year old man was robbed. Another mugging took place Monday at the East 2nd Street and Houston station, on the southbound F train platform. Robberies have also taken place in the West Village and in Brooklyn, where this surveillance image was captured. The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, 6 feet tall and bald.
