The folks at Ray’s, “NYC’s Favorite Hometown Bar,” are hosting a September 11th charity auction event today from 5-9pm. Bidding ends September 13th at 9am. They write:
In support of The FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation, Ray’s has partnered with former NFL player of the NY Giants and Detroit Lions, Romeo Okwara to auction a print of his “Untitled 17” (Ebay link here) – a striking black and white photograph that captures the elite New York Fire Department Rescue 2. On the morning of September 11, 2021, seven members of the team heroically perished while saving lives during the World Trade Center tragedy. The image memorializes the team’s sacrifice, courage and defense of New York City and its residents.
In addition to proceeds from the image auction going to the Fire Family Transport Foundation, exclusive Ray’s merch will also be available for purchase with proceeds for all merch purchases will also be donated to the foundation. Donations will also be accepted at the door.”
