Loisaida Festival Returns to the Streets Memorial Day Weekend

The 35th Annual Loisaida Festival returns to Avenue C, between 5th and 12th Streets, on Sunday, May 29 from 11:30am – 5:00pm. The beloved festival has been on hold (online only) the last two years due to the pandemic. The return to the streets promises a celebration of the resilience of the Latinx and LES community, in particular, with live music, theatre, food and fun for the whole family – not to mention, COVID-19 shots for the community.

The day kicks off with a Community Parade along Avenue C that will be led by Batala New York, an all-women, Black-led percussion ensemble. Hourly live music programming is presented on the Main Stage on East 12th Street at Avenue C as well as performances at La Plaza Cultural de Armando Peres on East 9th Street. The 9C Community Garden will be hosting local musicians Conjunto Los Fascinantes, playing Jibaro Music, for a quiet spot to relax.
