The Lower East Side Film Festival has announced it will return to in-person screenings for their 2021 festival July 8 – 12. The festival will follow a hybrid format, offering virtual programming alongside the live screenings. The team also announced the high profile addition of comedian Tig Notaro to their 2021 Jury Panel.
The festival is a week of curated films, panels and parties with a focus on diversity, originality, quality, and impact. It was founded 11 years ago in a tiny storefront and has continued to offer fun screenings and events in creative spaces around the neighborhood.
Tickets go on sale beginning June 21st.
All attendees must present proof of full vaccination to enter. Proof can be via the New York State Excelsior pass, a physical copy of the CDC card, a photo of your CDC card, or other electronic record of vaccination including name and date (e.g., some chain pharmacies have an app with this information). Unvaccinated audience members will be able to purchase a virtual pass and access the entire virtual program online until July 18th.
