As part of the 3rd Annual East Village Arts Festival, the Tompkins Square Library will present Drag Queen Story Hour with Harmonica Sunbeam tomorrow at 11am. The festival is hosted by the library and runs Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7, 2019. It features art exhibitions, music performances, art activities, author readings, walking tours, and more.
They write:
Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In these spaces, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.
