The 2019 Bowery Film Festival returns to the neighborhood for its 4th edition next week, November 19-21st.
The lineup includes 41 Oﬃcial Selections with 9 works made by African-American Filmmakers, 4 works by LGBTQ+ members and 7 films by, for and about the Latinx community.
The opening night party and music video presentation is free to attend and will kick oﬀ the festival on Tuesday, Nov. 19th at KATRA Lounge on the Bowery.
We also have 5 international productions from Spain, Colombia, Canada, London, and Hungary making its Bowery premiere and 50% of the lineup includes works written, directed or produced by a female ﬁlmmaker. The 2nd night will take place at Latea Theater and will feature the “Make Your Move” and the “Latinx, Female Gaze, LGBTQ+ Visionz” block.
Finally, the closing night will take place at the Wild Project Theater and will features a hilarious dark comedy “Adams,” starring Fred Armisen and Patton Oswalt. The Bowery Film Festival is giving away over $15,000 prizes to the winning ﬁlmmakers. The prizes are provided by Canon, The New School, Screenblade, 3636 Studio, International Screenwriters’ Association, Newscast Creative Rentals, Mongo Media Solutions, Roku The Music Network, Meditative Writing with Jess Hinds, New York Women in Film and Television, BKLYN Commons, Final Draft, Cquence and more.
