The 5th Annual Greek Jewish Festival comes to Broome Street this Sunday, celebrating the unique Romaniote and Sephardic heritage at the Kehila Kedosha Janina Synagogue and Museum.

It’s the only Greek synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. Romaniote Jews are a unique community of Greek-speaking Jews whose history in Greece dates back over 2,300 years to the time of Alexander the Great.

The street festival offers kosher Greek foods and homemade Greek pastries, traditional Greek dancing and live Greek and Sephardic music, plus an outdoor marketplace full of vendors, arts and educational activities for kids.

Festivities take place at 280 Broome St. between Allen St. and Eldridge St. on Sunday May 19, 2019, from 12pm – 6pm.
