Randall’s Barbecue is Smokin’ at 359 Grand St.

Must Read

The wait is finally over for a real deal slow-smoked barbecue restaurant below Delancey Street.

Randall’s Barbecue is making its debut this week at 359 Grand St. (just to the east of Essex Street), in the space that once housed Shalom Chai Pizza.

Chef/owner Jared Male got the Flo Fab treatment in the New York Times this morning. Male is a vet of places like Hill Country Barbecue, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and the Big Easy In London. At Randall’s, you’ll be able to feast on spare ribs, brisket, pulled pork, smoked duck and lamb ribs. The Times notes that Male has also dreamed up some Lower East Side-inspired dishes, including smoked chopped chicken livers and homemade pastrami. He’ll also be adding smoked meatloaf, New England clam cakes and country-fried eggplant to the menu.

Sandwiches at Randall’s will be served on bialys from Kossar’s and there will be pickles from the Pickle Guys, located right next door. There’s a full bar, including craft beers and bourbon.

While the restaurant has been open for private events in the past week, the official opening date posted on the front door is Sunday, Aug. 26. Hours listed on the website are 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. weekdays (2 a.m. on weekends).

Randall’s Barbecue. Coming Soon.
