Bake Culture, a trendy Taiwan-based bakery, just opened one of two New York locations at 48 Bowery. The concept was founded by the international pop celebrities, Chun Wu, Vanness Wu and Calvin Chen.
The shop, located just to the south of Canal Street, offers a wide selection of pastries, including Taiwanese pineapple cakes, egg tarts, fresh fruit tarts and traditional chocolate cake. A description on Bake Culture’s website says it’s “like a sophisticated museum” where customers learn about the origin of different types of bread.
In addition to the Bowery outpost, the bakery also recently opened a spot in Flushing.
