As we reported earlier this month, Nonna’s Pizza at 105 Clinton St. has been closed in recent weeks. While a sign on the door indicated that renovations were taking place, the owner, Leon Leandru, told us the landlord refused to renew his lease. Leandru was trying to negotiate a new deal, but it did not look promising.
Now, unfortunately, it appears to be the end of the road for Nonna’s, at least at this location on the Lower East Side. An auction will take place at the restaurant this afternoon at 2:30. It is listed by auctioneer Michael Adomeo.
Nonna’s opened on Clinton Street in 2008 and has always been a local favorite.
