–A 37-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly beating an ex-cop and stealing his gun during an apparent botched robbery on Eldridge Street. Rafael Calderon, who lives on Forsyth Street, was taken into custody yesterday. [Daily News]
–Downtown political activist Pete Gleason backed away from a write-in campaign to unseat DA Cy Vance, who’s under fire for failing to go after Harvey Weinstein.
