If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity, here’s a good one.

Girl Scout Troop 6000 was  established specifically to serve girls living in New York City homeless shelters. The program, which started in Queens, is now expanding across the city and volunteers are needed. Here’s the pitch:

As Girl Scout Troop 6000 grows to include girls in homeless shelters across the five boroughs of New York City, we are seeking volunteers to be their cheerleaders, guides, and mentors, helping them develop essential life skills and confidence that will last a lifetime!  To be contacted with more information, interested volunteers can click here and we will be in touch in advance of our first Troop 6000 volunteer training on September 30th.
