Two Bridges Music Brings Free Outdoor Klezmer Concert to Abrons This Weekend

There’s a fun free concert happening outdoors at Abrons Arts Center this weekend, featuring a Klezmer music performance presented by a “Quintet Special” from the  Metropolitan Klezmer band. They write:

The group, formed in 1994 by drummer / leader Eve Sicular, is in full an octet touring from coast to coast. The band’s five award-winning albums have been heard internationally in documentary soundtracks for HBO and beyond, with latest CD “Mazel Means Good Luck” featuring sounds from neo-traditional to genre-expanding originals such as klezmer cumbia, klezmerengue and more. Debra Kreisberg performs on clarinet and alto saxophone with Pam Fleming on trumpet, Dave Hofstra on tuba and upright bass and Eve Sicular on drums while special guest Shoko Nagai (accordion & piano) is visiting from Metropolitan Klezmer’s “sister sextet” Isle of Klezbos.
